Message from the Chair
The world is witnessing a tremendous growth in energy demand that is expected to climb 35% by 2030. This inflicts an enormous pressure on existing conventional energy resources, or fossil fuels (oil, gas and coal), which currently provide more than 98% of the energy consumed worldwide. The world reliance on fossil fuels presents many challenges, including: environmental damage, cost, and lack of sustainability. Currently, looking for sustainable energy is the key priority to address the world’s energy, environmental and economic challenges. One way to maintain energy sustainability is to rely on Renewable Energy. However, the scientific, engineering, and technology available are still short from providing reliable and cost-effective Renewable Energy, and an extensive research is still to come.
Given the huge impact of Information Technology on every aspect of our lives, and given the latest advancements and their adverse effect on engineering & manufacturing, transportation, science, medicine, communications, business and finance, … etc, We strongly believe that Information Technology can play a major role in developing highly efficient and cost-effective Renewable Energy systems. We think this is the right time for Information Technology academicians, researchers, and practitioners to become engaged with issues related to sustainability and renewability of energy.
Accordingly, you are invited to participate in The 1st International Conference & Exhibition on the Applications of Information Technology in Developing Renewable Energy Processes & Systems (IT-DREPS 2013), which will be held in Amman, Jordan on 29-31 May, 2013.
IT-DREPS is more than just a traditional conference; it is an innovative idea, and a whole new concept. It has a clear cut objective of bridging the gab between researchers in Information Technology and their counterparts in the Renewable Energy area. The idea behind this conference is to introduce this sensitive and essential area of research on Renewable Energy to Information Technology and Computer Scientists, while at the same time gives the opportunity for Renewable Energy experts to demonstrate their requirements and their needs to an audience of researchers who have the knowledge and the interest in the area of Renewable Energy research. IT-DREPS 2013 shall act as a platform for collaboration in the areas of Information Technology and Renewable Energy for tackling issues such as cost-effectiveness, efficiency, automation, control, monitoring, intelligence, distribution, security, availability, automation, simulation, quality, and interoperability.
We strongly encourage you to contribute to a brighter and greener future where energy would be readily available to people around the world with the least cost and least harm to the environment. Get involved, collaborate, and submit your work to IT-DREPS 2013.
The IT-DREPS 2013 Conference includes the following events:
